Well it's gonna cost over $2000 to fix the box on Sweetdiesel's truck so another g gets him a complete fibreglass that's going to be much lighter. Seems like simple math and a good idea to me.:dontknow:

Don't get me wrong man, I don't think its silly. Everybody always wants a little more.

As most of us know racing diesel trucks isn't the most cost effective thing to do to begin with...

I have a perfect box, with Line X liner that will fit for less then half that price. He's just got to drive a hell of a long way to bolt it up;).

What about gutting out a factory bed
and/or 4link the rear

Theyll both shed weight & cost less than 3000

I have seen where someone cut out all the metal in the bed and had aluminum rivited in... looked pretty cool after it was all done, but obviously if Abby needs a new bed i'd go fiberglass hands down. While the bed is off Simon add a 4-link too:D

any more info on the front bumper? Is that even a LMM or a 1/2 ton?

Dont forget another $1k easy to prep and paint that bed....

I think its a good idea though, every bit of weight helps. And Id rather run quicker running lighter, than take my motor further past its limits...

think of it this way going lighter, not only will it be a little quicker, but also little easier on the motor with the less load, therefore you can turn it up a hair too.....double whammy!

I order full -07 model body from gtsfiberglas, it should be ready in week or two. Shipping it to here will take few months, but after I get parts here I can give weights of bed, hood and cab.

Good deal Mika, let us know. Hope you are doing well.:thumb:

All is well, work could be better.
I bought reg cab, it is coming here and I will make 2wd tube frame/fiber body race truck next winter, if all goes good.
This summer will go with cc, engine parts should be back from machining next week or so.

Sounds like a fun project, better take an extended vacation and come over and race that beast in the states, sounds like it will be a runner.
