I have a 205 Tcase here that came out of an old chevy blazer. My truck is got two drive shafts with a carrer bearing. My plain is if it works. Have Central Florida drive shaft make me to stirty drive shafts that are shorter then my stock one's. Doing away with the carrer bearing and putting my tcase in the carrer bearing location. I beilve i will have the benefits of 2wd low range and be able to keep everything together. Please give me your thoughts and ideas. And please tell me if this idea is to danm stuipt

Well The Chevy T case is a married type so it wont work as you hope. However a dodge divorced type NP205 would be the best. put some 1410 or 1480 series yokes on it and i think youd be laughing! The extra reduction would make a world of difference at the pulls i would think.

Will adding the transfer case throw you into the 4x4 class? You might want to check. Depends on who makes the rules.

If it where me I would not bother with the 205. You could mount up a divorced style 205. But you will need to fab up a new cross member and two new drive shafts. I would not be suprised if in the long run it would cost more to go 205 than to swap the backend of the trans so you could just bolt up a stock T-case with manual linkage. The 205 has a lame low range ratio also. Less then 2:1. That means the trans will see more load than it would with a stock T-case.

I would try adding a tranfer case from a 4wd dmax or using the dodge NP205, If that works for awhile then I would work on coverting the truck toa 4wd the straight axle swap is 1350 for springs and brakets , get yourself a dana 60 from a ford with the driverside pumpkin, and the abs sensor hook up is around 400 bucks, not sure what the front rear would cost.

Sorry, I phrased that wrong. Being 2 wheel drive didn't they let you have a higher hitch hight and some other things?

most rules don't allow 'drop boxes' which this may fall under unless you pull mod class.

why not get stock transfer case and stock driveshaft so when/if you can go right back to stock?
