On a local site some people are trying to that an 07 Cummins, Powerstroke, or Duramax will not be able to hit the 10's without 100k in parts... How much would you say it cost's to get that job done? You can PM me if you don't feel like saying how much you have in upgrades. Trent Im just gonna go ahead and say your in the 10's for the sake of this argument. Just ball park how much it cost to make one that fast, and a list of mods would be good also.

I don't beleve Simon has half that into his '01 and he's at an 11.01.:angel:
I doubt an 07 would be any different.

shit, minus the truck, reliable 10s can be had in less than $30k in a Dmax...Thats including a build.

No build...less than $15k, but thats not very reliable but doable IMHO.

Truck = 9000
motor build = 15000 with turbo,duel cp3 ,injectors,basiacllly everything ( could go with a cheaper build )
trans =5000
roll cage =1500
tires = 1000
mic stuff= 2000

So safe to say you can do it for 35000 but cost of initial truck is where the cost could go up

all these figures assume doing the work yourself . Labor could add another 5k at least

trans 3500 bucks includes billit shafts
engine 6k
dual c's 2k
misc like exhaust,lift ect 1500
twins 6k
tires 1k
suspension 1k
roll bar 1500
single stage of NOS 500

so in short 25k plus price of truck and could save more if you built your own twins . this isnt my list but close and has proven to get the job done , there are plenty of other ways to do it .

What's the local site? :D

Through a $10k short block into trent's equation and you are there with some reliability. As everyone else said, the hit is going to be the initial cost of the truck.

He said 10's not 11's.:D there's a one second difference.:rofl:
seriously though. I better not have that much into my truck, and mine is probably on the heavier side of the exsisting 10 second trucks, so i would think it can be done cheaper. I've probably got around 40 CDN. into mine including parts i've taken off and upgraded a few times. Are we talking after the truck has been purchased or including purchase price?

Stingpuller would be a better example and runs very well in the mid/low 10s:)

First you have to figure out what you need for power to weight. Then build accordingly.

You could do it with an RC, trans, rods, charger, 2CP3's. Or replace the charger with nitrous if the weight was low.

you're right, oops. Guess his $25K is pretty close. I need to get on the horn with him though about a billet shafted built alli for $3500.

C-ya

That price is parts only , and assuming the work being done by your self , maybe a couple hundred more but def under 4k .

Correct, just buggin you. I know you'll get your 10. Have to pick on you while i'm faster, because i don't think it's going to last past spring and then you'll be much quicker. Question for the original poster, Are we talking daily drivers (which are usually CC or EC) or race truck which would be a RC?
I've already said my truck is slow.... But once it get's running right I think I can hang with a Cobra. I might be able to go to the shoot out, I really don't why everybody is getting so worked up though everytime I prove somebody wrong on this website people get very defensive that is exactly why I said this website can be very uncilivilzed sometime's.
Go find you a 2007 Duramax, Cummins, or Powerstroke pickup truck . . . put the money you need to into it to make it run 10's(C6 ZO6 Stock has been 10's bone stock down to the tires) and then we can compare price tags. . . I'm willing to bet that bitch won't be under 100k. . . whereas I bought my car in the mid 40's. . .

that's comparing overpriced junk
