I dont know if this has been discussed before....

But,

Is there any way we could get gear specific engine tuning?

Kind of like the trans has different stuff for regular mode and tow haul.

When the trans is in first the ecm uses tune A
When the trans is in 2nd the ecm uses tune B
etc, etc...

The only thought on this I have is use your T/H tables like a 'race shift tune' and regular mode as the 'regular mode tune'...

So when you hit T/H the shift pattern would change to what you have designated, and when you're just running around, it would use the normal pattern....

I know it's not EXACTLY what you're lookin for but, it's as close as I can figure...?

I was thinking of 2 things:

1 - in my truck where I'm trying to maximize highway mpg's. I slowly the mpgs up, but highway cruising at 70 mph is about 1750 rpm, so I hit that little rpm pocket in every gear on the way to 6th. It's not too bad but it's noticable. A seperate ecm tune for each gear would eliminate that .

2 - would it help in tuning for a race? I know you can limit fuel and tq, etc off the line, but being able to have a seperate tune for each gear might help ease the van off the line, then look out!!
