Gday everyone, another Aussie newbie here.
Have been siphoning info from here for a little while now, some great people on here with good experience and knowledge.
Hope to learn more about these engines and transmissions from you all.
I have little to add, have had mine running for a little over twelve months now, bloody great combo the dmax and Allison.
Due for a trans build soon, limped it the other day, so will no doubt be asking the gurus for some pointers along the way.
Experience on these setups over here is very limited.
Thanks for all the good info that gets put up here and thanks in advance for more to come.
Cheers:thumb:

Thanks for the comments guys.

Will get in touch if I need help Gutruk, thanks for the offer.
Not in a hurry yet, doing homework and getting the right bits and pieces.
Mine is stock other than transgo jr.
Limped mine on top tune overtaking with a road train coming the other way. :scare:
Not a pleasant experience, missus was pissed.

Explained I need to upgrade it to stop it happening again, she signed off on it so all worked out.
Just gotta drop the top tune for a while.

Essentially it's just a poor man's Silverado.
I couldn't afford the $130,000 for the real deal.
You guys have got it going on over there.
You've got all the good stuff we can only dream of getting our hands on at an affordable price..
Cheers.

Funny, I say the same thing about you guys and your easy access to used Holden's. Most of the good cars GM has in the US are just rebadged HSVs.

Well, they were. RIP Holden.

That's funny because I worked with some Aussi on a project. They criticize us for driving big powerful trucks. They would say how we just wasted fuel and that their little Patrols where so much better. They didnt understand why we didnt have flatbeds on our trucks. The area of the US I live in it seems like everyone has a truck. Most of them 3/4ton diesels.

Cheers

Funny how that works.
Get me an old 67 Camaro to do up and I'll give you my HSV.
Minus the engine of course, thatd have to go in the Camaro.

Hope none of them are your mates, but they sound like knobs.
Patrols and LandCruisers are as good as it gets over here. Don't get me wrong their not all bad. Not much good either.
But the only reason IV got one is because I can legally stuff a Duramax under the hood.

You sure they weren't immigrants to Australia. Dont sound like normal Aussies to me.
