Old MAR was a 1/4 mile track. Super Pro ran 1/8 mile runs.
What is lost about the old track, was the 2.89 mile road course. It had racers by the names of Andretti, Foyt, Newmann, Jones, ect... race there in the mid 60's and 70's.

U prob know better than I do, I only drove by it once and going off hear say everyone said they only ran 1/8 cause the track length was only 1200'. None the less two 1/4 mile tracks within a 45 minute drive of me is awesome!
Hell yeah. Too bad I moved to Oregon three years ago. We have two tracks here, one that is about a hour away and city owned and another that is about two hours away.
