Gated vs. Ungated Charger

I am going to upgrade the stock turbo on my truck. The stocker has about 140k miles. I was thinking about either the GT4088, or the HTT. I am also thinking about eventually twinning the truck at a later date.

I am planning to use the truck for daily driving, towing (7k# frequently, up to 12k# infrequently), and occasionally using a slide in camper. I may take it to the track next summer to see the results of my efforts, but I am not thinking about racing too often. My ultimate goal is to have a 600-700 hp truck that I could hammer on and not have EGT issues, even when I am towing-I will back off the tune for towing :D.

At this point I am not thinking about running dual CP3's.

My questions are:

1. How do you control overboost on the GT4088 without a wastgate?

2. Can the ungated 4088 be used as the secondary on a twin setup with out adding an external wastegate?

3. Which would be the better charger for eventually twinning the truck?

A gate can be added to the 4088 externally as you sugested , but with the cost to due so you may as well stick with the HTT , the HTT will work great in a twin setup right out of the box with no changes needed , and will still have good towing manners .

Pat put a truck into the 11's with a HTT and dual fuelers .

and dual cp3's wont be needed to get 650-700 hp with twins , a single can due the job !
