Where is the sensor located on an 05 lly? I looked online and from what I gather it's on the driver side fuel rail in the back under the glow plug module but I don't see it. Its cold outside and only have about 30 min of daylight left when I get home at night.

I was going through pictures of changing the head gaskets and I see no sensor at all on the driver side fuel rail. There is a sensor on the pass side rail in the middle.

Also dose anyone have a factory service manual that has the testing procedure for the fuel temp sensor? Just need to know the ranges of resistance that the factory says is good.

Thanks

Tom

Ok did a little more searching on here and it looks like they are saying it is in the return line on the drivers side.

New question does the ecm adjust fuel delivery according to fuel temp? I know there is a high limit that it defuels at but is there an optimal temp for the computer to see for max fueling

I don't think any fuel temperature sensor need for any truck as in liquid state its always going to work and it works normally.... I don't think any ride comes with fuel temperature sensor.... other than big money cars if you want get a sensor attached.... no big deal in that!!!

Yes, there is a fuel temp sensor on driver's side mounted in fuel the return line. There are parameters to defuel the truck if the temperature gets too high.
