fuel rail sensor

I got a po192 code in my lb7 which is a fuel rail pressure sensor low input code. I cleared it with a ppe xcelerator and it keeps coming back up. Truck also is skipping and surging badly most of the time and then some times i will go and start it up and it will do fine. anyone know what causes this or how i could fix it??

Try the fuel filter first, If you haven't already. Might sound dumb but mines done this with just 5k on a the filter. If not maybe an F-ed up CP3???? Just ideas, alot of people know alot more than me on this issue..

thanks for the help. i tried the filter first thing and it acted like it helped a little but not much i kinda thought it could be bad diesel but it was a long shot since the pumps nowadays have all the filters on them anyway i finally gave in and took it to the dealership today so they can figure it out. bad thing is while mine is in the shop i am driving a cummins
