Hello,
I am new here, I run into a problem yesterday, My truck set a code (low fuel rail pressure) I am able to run the RPMS up to 2000 rpm then it started shutting down.
I hooked my code reader up and veiwed the data as I drove. it ranged from 3000 KPA to 60000 KPA. I was wondering if anyone knew what the MIn and Max specs were on the fuel rails?
I have not changed the fuel filter yet but after some Power service, the rpms are back up with just some power loss from time to time.
Thanks for any info

I was figuring it had something to do with the bad fuel I got, plus the 13 below weather we have had. I tend to look at the worst possible problem first, and like to spend my time diognosing a problem before changing parts and hoping that solves the problem.
I also like to fully understand how a system is working so I can have a better idea of what is going wrong.
Thanks for the input. I have just finished changing the filter, but have not run it 15-20 miles to see if the code is thrown again.

That is what was throwing me off a little, I was not getting any message saying the filter had water, or needed changed. After I changed the filter, everything is back to normal. RPMs are up and it is not falling on it's face.
I still have not figured out the reason for the big changes in fuel pressure. I am still showing changes of 3000 to 60,000 KPA on my diognostic tool while running down the road. If something is going bad I would like to have some advanced warning. ha ha

Without knowing what the desired pressure is the actual pressure won't tell you much at all. While driving it is normal for fuel pressure to range from 30 MPa up to 180 MPa, as you can see from this stock fuel pressure table it all depends on the RPM and the amount of fuel you are asking for.

I am not a dmax guru but I don't think there is a fuel filter light. I've never seen on my truck or my brother's. If you. changed your filter at your truck is back to normal I would say that was it. Your filter Is before your cp3 so if the filter was clogged up bad enough your cp3 would be getting to much resistance to get up to pressure. That's just my opinion so take it how ever you want there are people here that have forgotten more than I know.

My truck is a lt 2 and has a Drivers Information center DIC it appeares in place of the odometer, and gives information like doors ajar, fuel filter needing changed, oil changes ect. I am sure You are right about it not getting enough fuel, and that the filter did the trick. I run 1500 miles this weekend and it never missed a lick. Thanks for the imput.
