i went out to start my truck this morning to get the fluids moving before i leave to head to town, i get back in the house to help the young fella with his boots and i hear an aweful noise from the driveway.
it's my truck. i run out to see whats up, and it's shaking and smashing ,almost sounded like a cummins.
go to pull it in the garage and it won't rev over 2000 rpm (i wasn't trying to rev the piss out of it or anything)....limp mode?
get it in the garage and change the fuel filter. sounded like it might be a supply issue, picked up some water or something. doesn't fix it.
get my buddy's code reader and it comes up fuel rail pressure sensor, clear my code and it's silky smooth again, took it for a drive and it works great.
anyway...has this happened to anyone else? should i be worried? sign of bad things to come?
thanks for any replies guys.

Yes 2000 rpm is limp mode. Your thoughts were correct that if you trip the fuel rail pressure valve, that you have a supply problem. Most times it is a clogged filter. You have changed that and everything seems to be back to normal, so go ahead and move on as if nothing happened. If it pursists, then you may need to look into it more. For now, don't worry, you've done what you should.
