LB7: Fuel pressure regulator

Hey guys, first time poster, long time reader. So... I took my 2001 Sierra in today because lately it's been aspirating strangely. Its hard to explain the sound, but it kinda revs up and down at idle, but there's no difference when I'm at any point through the throttle. The shop says she needs a new fuel pressure regulator ( for $900 )... Does this sound familiar to anyone?

The FPR is not nearly that much. Their estimate included labor?

It did include labor, but at $95 an hour, I think they're still trying to railroad me

Pensacola injection sells the New, Bosch ( i think it is) for like 150.00 or so.. Ya its a Pain in the ass to get to, but you could do it yourself.. There's afew write ups on here about it..

FYI 95 an hour is pretty normal for automotive repair. I'm not saying the total price isn't high, just the hourly rate is pretty normal.

Iirc book time is 4 hours. I'm sure they are charging you retail for the part was well.
