Fuel mpg question

Hey guys, how you doing? I got a 2012 gmc sierra 3500hd i transport trailers. I drive all of florida and georgia. With out trailers i get 16 to 18 mpg some times and with trailers i get 11 mpg at times. But this time i get 7 to 8 mpg what could it be? How much are you guys getting? And what can i do to improve these numbers? Thanks in advance

You tow different trailers or always the same one?

How many miles are on your truck? A re-gen will reduce mpg, I would drop about 1-2mpg during a re-gen. I would think while towing it could be more?

Always same weight. I use to do 13 now this last time was 7 to 8 mpg. Some told me about delete

So one this one trip you 7-8? If that's the case that's hardly an indication of a problem. Wait a few more trips before you start looking to hard.
