Fuel filter housing leak 04 lb7

Back when i replaced the injectors i also rebuilt the fuel filter housing along with it. I never noticed a leak until i installed a fass 95gph lift pump.

Im about 90 % sure its coming from the top of the housing under where the 3 screws hold the primer down. I opened it up, noticed the oring at the base was warped, replaced it and am still getting a slow seeping leak. The other two orings looked fine (the ones you place opposing one another).

Or if anyone knows about bypassing the filter housing any advice would be appreciated. I was thinking of running new braided fuel lines from the ficm input and output to the connections on the driver side but am not sure if thats a good idea

Yes you can bypass the filter.. Just run 1/2" fuel hose from the outlet of the ficm to the inlet pipe for the cp3.. Basically remove the two rubber hoses from the fuel filter Housing and replace with one loner one connecting the two pipes (ficm/ cp3) with no fuel filter in between.

I thought those two hoses are one is input to ficm and the other is a return to the housing for when its getting too much fuel to the ficm? Wouldnt it send too much to the cp3 pump if you connet the two together?

The ficm only has an in and out.. It comes in from the fuel tank, out to the fuel filter, through the filter into the cp3

And since i have the fass pump i dont have to worry about priming it after the housing is bypassed correct?

Correct.. I just leave the cp3 end of the hose off and turn the key on until fuel is there then hook it up and start it.

Do you have a fuel pressure gauge installed?

Another question, ive broke 2 fuel pressure gauges that were hooked into the fuel filter delete bowl. Fass said its supposed to be from 8-10 psi which at idle it is but after a few passes at the track the gauge leaks out the front of it
