Fuel filter display gage?

Bought the truck not long ago used, changed all fluids and filters and don't have 300miles on it yet with new filters and fluids. yesterday I get on the dash display "fuel filter life 17%" I have only used 1 tank full on this filter and used Howes fuel treatment additive. Display lieing to me or could it be something else... I opened drain on bottom of filter and no water. Thank you for any info.

Stupid question I am sure... But did you reset it on your dash?

Did you reset the filter life back to 100% after you changed it? It does not do it automatically?

Not a stupid ques at all... Was not aware I had to... although I did rest the oil..... Thank you both will reset it now if I can find it in the book on how to
