I know this isn't Duramax specific but I didn't really see a suitable area to put this type of question so here it goes since this is at least a technical section. :D

I have a squeak from my front pass. side wheel area. I have already changed the front hub but it hasn't gone away. It squeaks when the pass. side articulates over a bump. Like a speed bump.

What else up there sqeaks?

Thanks

Mike

Bushings and ball joints are a biggie also. As are tie rod ends. Well I guess I'd check anything that moves up down in out left right or turns.

Loosen the top shock bushing a cram some grease in there. See what that does
sometimes the metal bushing in there makes some noise

Well, I haven't greased the damn in thing in probably 45k miles so yeah, to say it needs it would be an understatement. I am currently looking for a decent grease gun. My understanding is that an extended length hose makes things easier when greasing these GM front ends, no???

I think I'll try that and move on to parts after that. BTW, I mentioned changing the front hub because it was squeaking while rotating, it now only squeaks while articulating.

Someone else has mentioned ball joints as an issue on these GM vehicles. Bummer.

My tierod ends seem okay when I put my sleeves on 15K miles ago or so. Can they go from good to bad that quick?

The shocks. Thats another area that likely needs attention as I'm suspecting that the shocks on it, came on it from the factory. So yeah, I'm researchign which shocks I want as well. Hot dang I'm gonna have a lot to do this winter *sigh*
