So today I noticed that my front end steering has some play, you can't really notice it in 2wheel drive but you can notice it REALLY bad in 4 wheel, I jacked it up and has a lot of play <-> that way, could this be as simple as Pittman and idler arms?

If it has been used a lot plan on upper control arms with new ball joints, tie rods, pitman and idler arms. That will tighten her up.:thumb:

Any way to pinpoint what exactly it is? I'm selling the truck and the guy would buy it if it didn't do that so I'm debating fixing it or just as is and telling someone it's the problem

Yeah we did that and see the idler and Pittman kinda sloppy, what about the control arm though how would I know it's that or just replace idler and Pittman and if that doesn't help keep going?

Chances are that every thing is going to be worn if it's original. So replace the obvious first then go to the next. If you rebuild the entire front end re-coup it in the sale price. I'm sure the buyer will be happy knowing it is all brand new. I would!

Rest of the truck is wrecked I'm already not going to be getting a whole lot for it. Redoing the front end won't add any value to it really ImageUploadedByTapatalk1389017795.341273.jpg

how many miles on the truck?

Definitely do cognito pitman and idler braces if you put a new pitman and idler arm on. Along with rare parts tierods, or something comparable would stiffen up any steering issues.

Make sure the hubs and ball joints are okay.

Exactly why do you care if the front end is sloppy looks like it isn't streetable! Busted mirrors busted glass! As is down the road it goes!

My chances of selling it in the middle of winter with sloppy front end in 4 wheel are unlikely, that being said I asked if it was that simple not how I should sell it.

I also already added that to my ad, the reason I'm considering fixing it is some wants it if that is fixed.

Here's the thing you are selling it as is I assume so if a potential buyer says hey the front end is sloppy tell them you'll fix it and add it to the selling price OR add $500 now and if they complain then drop it $500.
