Are you sure it's not one of the idler pulley bearings on the front of the engine?

Sent from the Arizona desert.

What you describe sounds like a bad wheel bearing, often associated with a growling noise or possible cupped front tires that howl. I have seen brand new out of the box bearings be bad as well as some take a dump shortly after being installed. Also, how does the tire wear look? Cupping will often times present with howling/vibration and will change with speed.

He said he's swapped tires. I changed my hub on my driver side and it is howling already, its tight and smooth though so **** it.

You just gonna run it? Upon further digging I think it must be these hubs. ****ing new GM JUNK!! Things both have under 500 miles. Oh well warranty.

Yeah, I already sent the new one I bought back, I thought I changed the pass side and not the driver side, but the driver side was the new one, so I said piss on it. It didn't catch turning it or have play with the wheel on but it's a Timken and it's def making noise. It's got grease, I pulled the speed sensor to make sure and put some more in just for the heck of it.

I want to see how long it lasts. Got 4600 miles on it now. Started howling around 1500.

I'm not saying you guys aren't, but I have religiously torqued the but on the CV shafts going through front hubs and have never had one go out in an unreasonable time. Not saying you guys aren't, but many like to pound them on with an impact and call it good. I won't even use an impact to run the nut down.

I torqued everything properly according to the McRat how to. I religiously torque everything including wheels all the time and I change them alot!
