Wouldn’t the G80 be spinning in the wrong direction in the front axle to even work? Because I don’t believe a G80 works in reverse....

Well, it was just an idea. I did not know that the smaller G80s would cause problems like that.

I cracked my 9.5 g80 all the way across the carrier in my 1500, they are not capable of handling much over 500 rwhp I doubt they could handle diesel torque. That would have been a cheap way out if it worked though...

they do, ramps for the clutches are bi-directional. the governor on the other hand might pose an issue but still ought to sling outwards

front ends are totally different animals. a little 9.25 ring and pinion would never stand up in the rear of a diesel but yet they hold up well in the front driven on the wrong side of the ring gear.

I'm curious what you mean by driven on the wrong side of the gear..I always thought that's why the 9.25 front gears are cut the opposite way then the 11.5 rear gears. The ring gear would be driven on the convex or outside of the gear tooth.

They spin in the same direction but in the front diff,the carrier is flipped 180 degrees in relation to forward/reverse of the vehicle(ring gear is on the right of the pinion)so forward in the front diff is same as reverse in the rear diff carrier wise..correct me if I'm wrong...

right, hence the reverse cut gears to make the pinion actually drive on the drive side. the G80 will still works though due to the clutch ramps being bi-directional, it doesnt care. ill bet the gov still works too as its still centrifugal force slinging it out regardless of direction

Has anyone used the Greensburg Machine front diff locker yet? Anyone use one truck pulling? I'm just curious on the durability. The air locker seems to be pretty darn reliable but a pure mechanical locker is intriguing.

I have not. If I recall (reading awhile back) he modifies a 9.5" GM or Dodge 9.25" carrier to fit in the AAM 9.25" IFS front case. I have an e-locker and love it but they're hard to find and can be hard to get parts for.
