The Mayans were much smarter than we are today.

2500 years ago, they knew stone calendars would be obsolete, so no need for more years past 2012.

In 1980, we were not smart enough to know that the world would not end in the year 2000, so we built computers that freaked out in 2000.
:roflmao: Sad but true.

In their defense, many of those programs were already 5-10 years old when Y2K hit, and in computer terms, it seemed as ridiculous as the Mayan calender lasting until now. But why replace what works, so the programs were still in use. As a programmer, I wish businesses would devote a bit more time (manpower) to both
1) writing long-term maintainable code, and
2) replacing code that is hopelessly out of date because they skipped #1.

If they allowed 20-30% more time to be spent on #1, #2 might become unnecessary.

I will be going to work were having a christmas lunch and its the only thing extra the company gives us during the year so I at lest want that from them before the end.
I will also have a 72hr kit and alot of stuff/rounds to protect myself with.:thumb:
