Fresh build over heating

Just finished rebuilding my 5 speed with gmax5 kit with reybestos clutches, mikes pressure spring two shims, mikes valve body springs, new valve body, new NSBU, and grinded a little on my converter valve for no knock down. ( I grinded a small amount being I have transgo parts in it) when I pulled it out the spacer had marks on it like it was banging around a little against the pin. The truck overheats no matter what. I can start it and let it sit for about 45min and temp gets up to 200*. Drive it down the road on a cold start gets up to 250*. I read that early transgo kits made the wrong size spacer causing overheating but what I read was it only did it while driving and would cool down when in park. Any ideas?

Try checking the inlet on the heat exchanger in the radiator it will be the bottom hook up from the trans to radiator. look good with a light and mirror

Are you running the late or early Transgo valve? What's the length of the spacer .750 or .900?

This is what I'm thinking. I didn't measure it before installed. I had the transgo done 5 years ago and after I read a post about you telling a guy they had made the spacer to short and your longer spacer fixed if made me think about it after I saw my spacer beat up. Only difference is he said it would cool down when he pulled over. Mine won't do that. Think it's the same thing still?

Answer my questions and I might be able to tell you.

Thought you just built it. You said you ground the valve. I'm not clear about what you posted.

It was built 5 years ago with a alligator stage 5 kit, had c3 failure since then, so I built it a week ago with gmax 5 kit. As I was putting your new pressure spring and shims in I figured I'd go ahead and do the converter valve mod for zero knock down and when I pulled it out is when I noticed the scarring on it from the pin.

So you ground the Transgo valve? If so, it might work on the late valve but won't work on the early valve. Early valve has a small hole in the end.

You found someone who could actually flush the coolers out, and now it's more than a small stream coming out of the return line?
