I am looking to install a frame mounted filter and lift pump and get rid of the underhood filter. What's a good setup to use? My tts pumps just aren't cutting it and my underhood filter housing is buggered up and it's a pain to change now that my cac pipe is in the way.

I need recommendations of a decent filter setup. I was thinking about buying and airdog liftpump.

I just went on the airdog site. What about the airdog II model df200. Will this do what I need it to. Any experience? Can I use a standard filter on it or does it need a specific airdog filter?

From what I've read airdog is a nice pump and if that is 200gph that should work for all your needs.

IMO The filter should be rated for 200gph what ever brand you choose to use. And i would also use 3 micron or lower.

I dont care for the "all in one " units like the FASS or Air Dog . the way they circulate fuel with there own returnis what cause's the supposed "air" or Foaming they claim to get rid of  . I run 2 165 GPH pumps running full time and I don't have a stitch of foam to be found . I would just run a standard lift pump and a remote filter kit its cheaper than buying the whole "shabang" . BD has some nice filter kits for a decent price ,and there pumps are nice too, that is what i run on my truck , here's a pic, i don't have any filters under the hood either . the pic shows the filter ,and brackets that come in the kit , it also come with all the hose and clamps . the other units arent bad I just dont prefer them is all .

I might do it your way Trent/Reno. Pumps seperate from filter. I can get the filter cheap that way.

Thanks forthe advice guys. I'll see how much the fass 200gph unit is. If it's over 600 I'll do it the other way.

I have a lift pump pushing thru a 2 micron CAT filter with a NAPA filter head mounted on frame rail after lift pump. I deleted my stock filter head. Right now I have a piece of 1/2" hose going from the to metal lines on the motor (by the cp3) to bypass the filter head. I am having a company fab me a 180° steel line to clean it up a bit and make it un-noticeable.

Only thing I like about all in one units( never owened one) is that they size filtrs correctly

Tts pumps or of are good butb i do notice a drop in pressure with 2 cp3s or anything over 2800 stock u may not and I don't care to argue about it
those pumps r great to a certain point they are not desighned for the volume that we require. We actually only use a 1/4 of the fuel we supply the pump with IMO

And steve if u can get it without a built in filtervu r better off
I havebone for sale if ya want

Fittings for filter heads and hose can add up $$, Just make sure you price it out before you rule out an airdog setup.

Ya, I got my parts guy looking into some prices for me right now on a FASS setup. We'll see what it is. Ordering off the net seems cheaper but its really not once I get it shipped across the border and up north.

As for bypassing the stock filter housing... I was just going to unbolt it and take the whole bracket right off. And splice the two houses that come and go together. Wouldn't that work?

You guys are prob talkin for a newer model unit. On my LLY I'll have to run a line direct from to the FICM. The rest is in place from there.

If installing a custom fuel system like you guys are talking about, how are you hooking the fuel line up to the tank? Just hooking it to the original hose?
