Have any of you guys tried the solution I posted here? I'd sure be interested to hear if it fixed the problems you were having.

I have an update on this.....

I installed a set of drive shaft loops on my truck for the last two pulls of the season. After each pull I found that the front of the rear driveshaft is rubbing on the passengeer side rear of the 6" driveshaft loop. From the rubbing on the shaft it is clear that at least on my truck the tranny tailshaft is moving up and to the left and causing the rub on my shafts.

I will take pics to show the rubbing:mad:I am thinking that a stiffer tranny mount or a limiting strap will help but I havent decided how I am going to do it yet.

Any Ideas?

I cant say for certain, but maybe that has something to do with it? I'm beginning to believe more and more that they are the issue with my truck. Its to the point I get a bad vibration on the drivers side when I put it in reverse, especially when its cold. I think its the exhaust hitting somewhere but I'm not sure yet....but it never really did that before.... I think they are getting weak and partially causing my shaft to hit the NSBU nut/stud. It seems to have worked on Erics truck I think?

When i put the u-joints shields on my front drive shaft i notice that my ujoint was machining the bell housing of the tranny some. i figured that the motor was torquing so much that it was moving the tranny far enough over to hit the ujoint. I put limit strap on mine to keep the motor and tranny from twisting. the limit strap is bolted from the frame to a plate that is bolted to the lower bolts of the tranny.

I pulled the motor on my truck and found that one motor mount had failed completely and that the other had 25% left on it. I think that the motor mounts are giving us the problems. I didn't even notice until removing engine because I still had no visible rubbing.

Thats great news. I'm positive now that my Drivers side mount is no good. I'm sure that is what is vibrating and making noise when in reverse.... Another thing on the list for winter...

No i never did get around to taking pics of the set-up due to the fact that i had to fly out to seattle, washington for work on dec 1 until may 15. So it will be a while before i can get back home and take the pics.
