going to buy a replacement truck tomorrow and found a sweet clean 2017 Denali BUT don't want t o venture down the expensive (beat to death) road of deleting that. Will prob stay with 2016 as I have the new exhaust on my shop floor for a LML already and the tune is still cheap and DPS 5. Guess I am just rambling on the post but wanted some feedback to make me feel better for paying damn near the same for a 2016 as I can get a 18/18 for. I am going with a already lifted truck with wheels though so I don't have to pay out after.

The one I may get has a "rough county" lift, 6" looks like gas shocks, I need the clearance for hunting/scouting spots ect, but I had a tough country lift before and hated it, sales guy told me it is better and will not ride that bad, I will find out in the morning, and I assume "rough country" lift is still bottom of the barrel?

I get up in the mountains into the bad stuff prob at least 2-3 times a month for hunting/camping/scouting, so I want the lift but hate the bad ride that comes with it, and don't want t o shell out a but load of cash for a fine tuned KING lift, guess I just answered my own question huh, want the good stuff, PAY FOR IT

Just my opinion, I have bought Dmax's since 2002 and been tuning them since 2005.

I owned a 2002/LB7, 2007/LBZ, 2012/LML, 2016/LML and now a 2019/L5P

The L5P is by far the best one yet STOCK vs the TWO LML's I owned.

I threw a Banks Derringer on it for now.

If you are looking at a 2016 I traded mine off for $51K in FL on a 2019 in October, they matched Laura's deal, not as much discounted off he L5P but $4k more on my trade, and they were 1/2 the distance to FL then IL.

New is more to tune for now, that may or may not be the case in the future.

LML has a lot more available, but you will not see the same power on an LML as you will on an L5P, the engine has a ton of upgrades and no CP4.

Just some things to think about

I have an LBZ, an LML, and I just bought a 2019 L5P 3500 and it's a pretty good size difference between it and the LML, which are both stock. The LBZ is a different story...

Tony, how do you like the Banks Derringer?....got the itch to tune the 2019...

Could be like Evan and jump ship for a furd

I haven’t owned a L5P, but multiple Duramax platforms including a LML. Don’t get me wrong, I loved my Dmax trucks, but my ‘13 Ford 6.7 and now my ‘17 are probably my favorite trucks to date.

Tom, neither do I. LOL I mean my twin turbo LMM was a blast and so was my big single LB7, but these new Fords have changed me.

Just drive one already! Haha

I can confirm what he’s saying here guys. Hate to say it but it’s true. I feel Ford has been ahead of the ball game interior wise since 08 and now powertrain wise since they got the bugs worked out with these 6.7’s. The 17+ plus trucks are insane.

Hey now be nice I love my 19  There’s no changing how much bigger inside and nicer it is in general then my LML Denali’s and my L5P High Country I’ve owned. The power with just a tune and 25 minute race pipe install is crazy. When GM pulls their head out their ass I’ll switch back. I still love the 01-06’s but if I’m buying new at least for now Ford was the easy choice for me.

Hands down Laura Buick GMC has the best prices around on the GM, they are local to me and I bought my duramax canyon thru them. They are definitely lacking customer service and have no salesmanship whatsoever, so if you know what you want exactly, it’s the place for you. If you don’t know exactly what you want, the salesman will simply tell you to go find something you like and report back when you’re ready to sign papers. Just my .02

Pretty sure Evan from limitless is in love with his ford too.

Beibg able to tune it to 600 hp, trans doesn't hate it too much is a huge plus too.

My brother has a new ford and it's nice and all, but it's still a straight axle. His is lifted, no idea which one, and it drives like a lifted straight axle truck.. The power however is frustrating because it was so easy for him. Having to get back in my LML always makes me put a few more bucks away for a new CP4 and charger.

I might also just have my head in the sand, but I still wouldn't trade my LML for a Ford. I like the interior too much and just like GM's in general.

Lol I’m just frustrated because I swore off fords after the 6.0 but now that I’m considering buying a new truck they have come across my mind again.
I really wish it wasn’t 5k to tune the L5p otherwise it wouldn’t even be a question
But for 5k you can do a lot!
Also some dealerships around here offer 0% financing
