Does anyone have much experience with the Ford 7.3 trucks? Specifically a 2023+ 10 speed.

I don’t like anything gm has to offer (well maybe the AT4x truck. But it’s diesel and I’m out of diesels unless it’s pre emission and then I don’t even really care to have one anymore. Ram is Meh other than the TRX

Ford offers the F-250 in a big pushrod gasser, with electric locking rear differential, and 6 seats ( I’ll have to have 6 seats in February).

Plus there is the Tremor package. 4.30s, 35s, oem spring lift and fancy shocks.

Oh and the money isn’t overly stupid (compared to everything else) Sub 60k off the lot for a brand new 3/4 truck.

Pic is a diesel but otherwise the same truck as I would like to have. I think.

I’ve been driving a 2016 Tundra TRD pro for about 9 months. I don’t hate the truck. I hate the seats. And it’s a 5 seater so it needs to go.

I dislike the seats so much I drive my 69 Landcruiser daily and leave the Tundra in the driveway. The tundra has got less than 20 miles in two weeks.
And those were because I felt like I needed to drive it before the batttery went dead.

Also I’m sure this is in the wrong sub forum. I just thought it might gain more traction here.

Blasphemy! 😁

I'll let it set here for a few days to see if it gets any traction before moving it to the gasser section. But I can't stop Tom from moving it 🤣

I “need” an HD truck. Need something tax deductible. Need 6 seats.

Honestly never thought I would look at a Ford. Yet if I can get with the dealer I might test drive next weekend

LMAO! I saw this thread in new topics and thought the EXACT same thing! Corbin, why o why o why?

...........and yep, moved to gasser section. That be where it belongs........although, as a Ford topic, maybe the Trash Can is more appropriate?

j/k Corbin. If thats what you need, thats most important. Friend on the route bought a bit older King Ranch gasser. Beautiful truck. He loves it.

I like Fords version of the 10 speed. But I haven't been in the new gasser 7.3L I Also haven't been in a new GM with the 6.6 gasser or 10 Speed either.

More Importantly, I would never Own Ram... And Leave the Toyota and the Nissans for the Gardner's and the Grandpops.

I have three Toyotas.. the 5.7 is a super solid platform.

However they aren’t a HD truck

2023+ should have the latest revisions in the trans. I’d go 2024 to be sure. Heard good things about the 7.3 so dont think you can go wrong.

No way I’d own a chrysler product. Jesus they are such junk.

The trans concerns are what brought me to 23+

They like to let loose around the 150kish mark. Even with religious maintenance on them

Other then that they are great motors and can make killer power with some add ons.

Thats just about any of this new junk. 100-150k is all you get before they need big repairs. So dumb

100% accurate.

I don’t think a 2024 will be on the road in 20 years without major upkeep and tech not working.
But look at how many 2004s are still running around more reliably than a new one.

Things aren’t what they used to be.

I really don’t want a new truck. There’s to much tech in them.

However to get anything older is a compromise. My tundra has all the tech I need. And it’s dated. It has auto connect Bluetooth, and a back up camera. That’s more than enough.

The xlt fords are pretty dumbed down. Which is a plus.

The newer trucks just have so many options that you can make one unaffordable if you continue to pick options. If you build a basic truck with tech like the 2010 models had the price isn’t terrible. You have to think that when we were buying stock trucks then adding amp steps, stereos, lights,, air bags, locking differentials, lifts, big wheels, tires, etc. The overall price once add ones were complete is about where the new ones are and everything is done from the factory. When I bought the new one I just swapped over my wheels/tires and tool box, no lift needed, factory lift pump and tons of power. They just put most of the stuff we used to bolt on aftermarket factory.

Actual discussion I had with my wife, as I'm buying parts to do head gaskets on my 119,000mi LML, that spends its life sitting in my shop.

Her "explain to me again what we have to do. Lift the cab and pull the whole engine apart?"

Me, "yeah, definitely not something I'm looking forward to."

Her "so much for buying a Duramax because it will go 500,000mi."

Me "..............."
