Someone correct me if I am wrong but aren't the ford transmissions from the 6.0 ish era to today pretty great? I've read a few places that they'll hold 500-550 fairly safely in stock form. I believe that's when I researched the 6.4. But thought it applied to the 6.7 too. Again could be wrong. Hopefully someone with more insight can shed more light on this

The 11-14 6r140 is stronger than the 15-16 both hold 500hp relatively well but I believe they pulled clutches out of the 15s to keep them cool so the current trans can slip with an aggressive tune correct me if I'm wrong

That is more or less correct, but tuning is the biggest contributing factor on how well they hold. And just like with anything, how a person drives it.

One friend has a 14 and his ECM was pulsating on and off while driving 5k-8k miles it did that the dealer couldn't find anything wrong then one day it just stopped
Another has a 17' and his only complaint is when braking with a trailer it pulls hard to the right
That being said I've never been stranded in a dmax...but If I had a nickel for everytime a ford has left me stranded I'd have probably a dollar :thumb:
As for Ram/Dodge we just won't even go there lol
