Here's a Pic of our Race-Boat that I just got done freshining up the fuel injection on..It was the National champ in the 2002-2003,and 2003-2004 in the National Airboat Racing Association.Needless to say the new one we built didn't make it through it's first flight, and i almost didn't either

Just figured i'd share..That's my daughter in the front seat..

The boats been clocked at 95+ in 400ft..Talk about setting you back in your seat,,It's one hell of a ride on the water..

Just for Drag-Racing..It's called a Step-Hull, if you look closely the bottom of the hull has a step in it. When your moving it'll raise up on that step and ride there.Only about 6" of the back of the boat is in the water. Less friction.

And yes that is a Brake on the back or the transom..It will shoot a rosster tail of water atleast a 100' in the air..Pretty cool to see..

Yeah Diamonback sponsered the boat and built everything..The seat package and guard are all made out of aluminum..I think a 12pack weighs more than all of the rigging..

As far as the d-max airboat goes there still working out electrical issues..

I got a buddy with a 509 bb he has taking first place over here in the red neck drag races in destota. He has it all tweak and everything. I beilve he is selling that boat not sure. Got another buddy with a 0540 air craft with every possible thing u can do to it fuel injection and nos.

Is that an IO-550?

I haven't been around recip's for a long time but I remember flying a Baron that had 2 550's that looked very similar to that engine.

Looks like fun.....the scary kind of fun. Like, "wow, that was fun and I'll never do that again."

No Craig it's an IO520 we do have 550 cylnders on it though.It's also stroked,decked,1/8 longer rods, custom cam, and custom Ross pistons in it..It will not run on any fuel under 116octane Pushing 540 cubic inches out of a 6cylnder!!It's a beast to hear run!!

Glad to hear Dan..My current prob is they are using a counter rotating prop 20 blades at 15* The gear ratio from flywheel to prop is 2.42to1 we hav a 2.68to1. the props are inforcing such a load on the engine that it's just choking it down and not letting the turbo spool, if you can believe that. A 510 Hp 502 will spin the same prop same * 400rpm more.. I can not get the d-max to build more than 17psi boost with these props set to this degree..I'm thinking it's something electrical, but am starting to have my doubts.. Some type of T/C would be perfect..

My g/f Lindsay and her Dad's DiamondBack. Pic was taken before a race built "Nascar" 350 was installed. The seating arrangement has also been reworked. Playing with different props. For a big hull, this will walk on alot of the other's that run around Vero.

Sweet boat..I wanna say i've seen that boat on Lake Kissimmee during one of the Holiday weekends?..I wonder how many belt's he's blown on that belt drive gear box.. A Stinger 2.68 gear box and a 3blade Sensnich prop would really wake it up!!
