Finally arrived to the diesel world. Currently over seas. Having a good ole time. Wife bought me a 2005 GMC LLY for when I get home:D. 113,000 Miles. 3rd owner. She did an awesome job. Below is a list of things done to it. My brother is taking care of changing the oil, fuel and tranny filters etc.

Turbo Back Exhaust
Edge Racing Programmer ( Not sure which one, still investigating)
EGR Block OFF Plate
Cold Air Intake
AFE Mouthpiece
Hub Bearings
Steering Column Bearings
Wheels and Tires
3in Skyjacker Lift
Bilstein Shocks
Tie rods, Ball Joints and Sway bar end links
Water pump
Rear End was replaced, not sure why...Maybe a little too much juice
Full system, speakers amp and head unit
XMSN rebuilt. Also not sure why...too heavy a right foot?
Lastly...New gauge cluster

My question to you guys. The Injector Balance Rates are kinda all over. Cylinders 1+2.5 2+2.5 3+0.5 4-1.0 5-0.9 6-4.0 7 +0.2 8+1.3

My brother is going to try and clean them as well as start running an additive. Give me your thoughts on any preventative maintenance I could do to prolong the life of the injectors and the truck as a whole. It is a very clean truck just want to make sure I am doing everything I can to make it last.

Great Forum and Thank you for any help.

Welcome to forum! I have an 04.5 LLY with 298K miles and its still running strong. Those balance rates are just fine if you ask me, others may disagree. I haven't ran any additive in my fuel in the last 50k miles I think it runs fine. Biggest thing is to just make sure you keep your filters and fluids changed, and these engines will last forever.

Well my buddy is going to check it out. He said the coolant was low. My wife said the light didnt come on when she drove it home. How shitty would that be if it had a bad head gasket. I would be extremely upset if this guy sold my wife this truck with a bad head gasket. I guess its possible, some people will do anything to get their money back. She said she didnt see anything leaking when she got it home....But she probably didnt look very well becasue she said the light was not on when she drove it. She said it didnt have any issues driving either. My father in law went with her and he said there were no issues that he could see...I hope my buddy finds an easy fix...:(

Well guys my buddy hasn't been over yet but I ased the wife to go check and see if bubbles were coming into the coolant resivour. to which she replied there were... anyone want to shoot their advice my way? I won't be home for 5 more months. my wife just wanted to get me a surprise for when I come home and this happens. I'm trying to keep her calm but she knows how expensive this issue is. Please let me know where you guys would recommend getting head gaskets. and all the other gaskets that will need replaced as well. Thanks again guys for any advice yall have.
