The point I was trying to make is that the force on the breaker bar will be close to the same as if you were torquing a normal bolt over 300 ft lb.

I know that mike. It puts it more into perspective of how tight those things are. And they are tight. I use a 4' 3/4 bar after a big bowl of Wheaties.

The job is done But during the time before we got it off we snapped two Grade 8 bolts that we rigged onto a Ingersoll Rand air gun that has 550 Ft. Lbs of torque.
A quick heat with the propain torch did the job along with a 2' breaker bar and a 6' pipe on that. We snapped a stand that we had the block on, it almost fell but the hoist was close enough to help us out.

If you have an impact with enough power to take them out. I tried 4 different 1/2" impacts on mine. 2 differance snap ons, a Mac, and an IR. I'm sure a 3/4 or 1" would buzz them right out.
Did you try any grade 5s? They are more elastic and may hold up to the repeated blows better. Grade 8s don't like cycling. Either way you were trying to put q lot of torque through a 3/8" bolt.
Nonetheless that gun shouldn't take them off anyways. I've gotten some off with a 3/4" gun but I'd rather use a big breaker bar than hold that big clubby thing up there.
Lots of places sell the correct sockets. Heat isn't really needing for them, just a lot of force. There's no loctite or rust locking them in there.
