flexplate help

I went with a BD plate on this motor. My stock plate handled a ton of abuse and was still fine. Yet to hear of a BD failing.

This is a genuine question, all automatic transissioms have a flex plate, all the "good" flywheel/flex plates for a Duramax, other than BD, are a full billet piece and allow no movement. What is the point in the automotive standard to use a flex plate if it is not needed.

Sorry to dig this old thread up but was doing some research on BD flex plates and this is a good question? why is a soild billet flex plate better?
