Hello all,

I had just recently installed a fleece tapshifter in my 01. Trans is built and is rock solid. Trans still shifts perfect but after tapshifter install I get a p0700 code that once cleared comes back right away. I cleaned battery cables and tested batteries. Could not find anything wrong with batteries. Any ideas would be helpful.

Okay it turns out the directions I received with the tapshifter say nothing about reflashing tcm. When I go to fleeces web page they say important on 01-02 trucks tcm must be re flashed? I emailed them for a file and they wanted me to mail them my tcm or take it to a dealer for a reflash? Clised dealer is 170 miles away and I am really wondering why I cant get a file and flash the tcm with my v2? Has anyone else ran into this?

Fleece Tap Shifter

Does anyone have an 01 tcm file they can send me? [email protected]

Every since installing the fleece tapshifter I have p0700 p0727 p0742 and no lockup on converter. I installed their tcm od lockout tune. I am wanting to flash my stock file or a stock file back in and un hook this tapshifter to verify all is still good with trans. Trans was pretty fresh maybe 10k miles on it before I installed this. Trans shifted awesome but now is a pos. I am kinda pissed I spent as much money on this thing as I did and possibly f*4ked up my trans!

Ya I see the update for tcm on the fleece web page but not in the instructions that came in the box with the shifter. Had to find this out the hard way I guess????

Unless somehow you've got a older unit all of our Tapshifters have carried the same set of instructions for about 2-3 years that says it needs a re-flash, even notes it on the website. The reflash should have nothing to do with the overall function of the unit, it just allows for locking out of overdrive something the 01-02 trucks never had. If your having issues give us a call at the shop and talk with Jeff, we will be more than happy to help you get your issues resolved. 317-286-3573

I have left email and voice messages and have not heard anything back as of yet. I did flash a stock tcm file back in and disconnect the fleece harness. Trans shifts fine again with lockup and no codes. This kinda narrows things down a bit.......

Fleece

Well I got everything working great. I did get ahold of Jeff with Fleece and he pointed me in the right direction on narrowing down where the problem may be. I ohm'd out the fleece harness and found pin 17 was transposed with another position. There are two wires that are the same color. They are black and violet. Those are the wires that were transposed. maybe not a bad idea to change wire colors to prevent this from happening. Anyhow thanks to Jeff and Fleece now she works great again. :thumb:

Sounds good. Install is easy. Like Mike L says its all easy until it doesn't work. This statement holds true for most everything lol!
