caltracs help to fight the rear squat and axle wrap, whereas traction bars only help with the wrap correct?

I think that's right. Traction bars really don't help with traction. Cal tracs when set right will help traction

any type of traction bars will help you a lot. find ones that have some different adjustments that way you can dial it it. a so when you get the new tires try starting at 30 PSI and see how it does. Remeber the bigger the tire and wheel the more power you loose. a smaller wheel and tire would be ideal. at least for the track. also are u running 4 wheel drive when you are racing or just 2 wheel drive? 4 wheel will help with your 60' times, but its harder on everything. Like Katie said wright every thing down for each pass. it will help you out. if funds are around try getting some drag radials and smaller wheels just for the track. if u need new tires any way for every day use. go with what Katie told you.

Well i cant run a 420 year round with where i live. So i plan on getting a trail grappler or terra grappler with some new 20x10's. I have 20x9's that i can put drag radials or a 420 on. I don't think that would be too bad would it? I was cutting 1.81's with no traction bars, stock shocks, shit tires and stock trans and tuning. Once i get traction bars, 420's and a built trans with max effort tune i think i can cut some good times?

If you do long style T-bars keep your leafs clamped. That way you won't squat at the track but can still sled pull.
