Tonight was my first run at the strip.

Best pass:

1.058 Rea
2.107 60ft
5.872 330ft
8.412 594ft

8.977 @ 79.64 MPH

Ran JoshH's LBZ race tune. This was 4x4 about 1300~ RPM launch. Stock Tranny.

I do not have sleeves, so I was scared to launch hard.

Stock trans? Do you have a lift pump? You're leaving a lot on the table with that 60' time. MPH looks pretty good.

Stock trans YES. I honestly don't know why, but i've never limped this thing. I've had it tuned hard for 60K. Built tranny is on its way soon, just waiting for the motive to push me there. :)

I know my 60 is hurting me. This was with stock everyday street trim. All tires @ 50 PSI..

and my tool box was in the truck.. :D

No lift pump.

Have you logged it to see what kind of rail pressure you're running? That's a big fuel shot for a completely stock fuel system. I have another tune that might be a little better for you. I'm surprised you aren't throwing rail pressure codes.

I have a log attached. I'm not sure it's my fastest run but it'll give you a idea.

I would love to try another tune if you think it'll help.

No codes, just the one that we had issues with on the race tune that you fixed ( I never loaded the newest version) .

I've got a refined tune for the rail pressure in 3rd. Sleeves will go on this week.

What does one normally lauch at?

What's the best time for a stock tranny in the 1/8th. I know I"m not the only idiot that has tried it. :D

I think there have been a few stock transmissions run 12s in the 1/4. That would be a low 8 in the 1/8. You have a lot of time left on the table just in the 60'. I think a mid 8 is possible.

I'm running Hankook 285s on PYO's. What 60 ft time should I be cutting? 2.1 is terrible I know.. just looking for ideas and whats possible.

As long as the track prep is decent, you should be able to do mid to high 1.7s pretty easily.

Cool, did you have fun?

Im heading to the track in 2 weeks, i'll be watching this thread for tips;)

Had a blast Tim! I'm hooked... :eek::D

Read Pat's 20 tips to Drag Racing, their dead on.

As long as the track prep is decent, you should be able to do mid to high 1.7s pretty easily.

I can say this, In 2wd I'm going side to side down the track, I don't think prep is THAT good, although, the big dragsters with slick's was hooking good.

Congrats man I run a 8.30 eighth mile an my 60 is 1.8... I can't get better than that yet!

Thanks, Can't wait to see what it can do.

What can we do to improve our 60' times? Air down? Lower RPM on launch? I assume the 60' is so bad because of poor traction????
His was low because he left at 1300 RPM. You need to leave at more like 2000 to 2200.

I launched at 2100 and 8100 Power and my 60's were about the same. Mine was 2.160 and his was 2.107

I could feel my truck spinning on launch... I'm just trying to learn what I need to do to get my 60' better. What is a good 60' time to try and reach?
