I think from his post I quoted he wants to figure out how it's done and build his own set. :thumb: A competent guy with a welder, ALL the right parts (that's where we help in making sure he gets an accurate and complete list of components), and knowing what goes where could do his first set in a weekend if he hustled along. Seeing a kit in person definitely helps.
The labor, R+D, etc that shops charge are what bring a $1200 pile of parts (stock charger to S475) to a $3500-$4000 pile of parts, plus the installation charge/price if the work/swap is done there. When you do it your self, as it sounds like Bevi wants to, you use a couple days of time but save thousands of dollars and have that satisfaction of doing it yourself and being able to fix or mod it later down the road. I love seeing all the different twists and variations people have when home brewing their kits.
