Sure did clean up nice!

That's a whole lot of space to make and store pistons! You must plan on making a few of them! :D

Good luck with the shop!

The only thing holding me back from a full move in is the new garage door. I don't have a firm date from the door company for installation. Going from an eight foot high to an 11 foot high.

I need the height to get some of the machines into the shop.

:D

Nothing fancy.

3 axis, wired for a 4th.

20 HP 7500 RPM CAT 40 spindle with a 2 speed gear box

Probing and tool setter.

Through spindle coolant.

Side mount tool changer.

4 auger to conveyor chip removal system.

40"x20"x25" XYZ travels.

This is a used machine. 2010 model with only 96 spindle hours. It is not the best, but fit in the budget without being too old and should work out well going forward.

Every Mori I looked at that I could afford had thousands of hours on the spindles and were ready for a rebuild. That, and they wanted over twice what I thought they were worth. For used machines too.

The older Haas machines I looked at, tho cheaper, were overpriced IMO.

I had narrowed it down to wanting two primary options on any machine I purchased. Probing and through spindle coolant. The rest can be added fairly easily.

90 hrs on the spindle is less than 1 month's worth of work time.

Wish I had access to one of those. I can only imagine the stuff that would just happen to get accidentally programmed.:)
