to check the intercooler and boost tubes you can go to lowes and get some pvc pipe caps that will fit in the boots. tap a air fitting into one of them. pump it up with a air comp. i checked mine every 10 psi or so all the way to 50.

p.s make sure to clamp them really good and i would suggest using duct tape or something to make sure they dont come flying out. the first time i did it without putting duct tape over the ends, one shot out across the garage.

I can hear it, SOUNDS like it's on the lower driver's side, but it's VERY VERY VERY hard to hear. I've give the compressor a shot. So say pull CAC off stocker and put compressed air into CAC driver's side pipe and just listen for a leak? How do I regulate, control how much psi is put into system? Do I need to use a gauge? or would me autometer work??

It just ticks me off, I should be running alot quicker, tonight I could only muster a 13.55@98mph.

Could a MAF or EGR cause this symptom? What about head gaskets with no other symptoms?

No, I was in such a hurry I forgot the PC, almost forgot my helmet. What exactly do you mean by laying over? In the last month or two, I noticed the fan coming on and annoying the shit out of me. Since then it felt slower, I just blamed it on the fan running.
I guess my memory is just bad, but I believe the truck was quicker when i had the first set of twins.

I did have a very HARD launch, scary launch...but still ran a 13.78.
It's hard to watch the gauges at the track too...I'm still a lil nervous up there. But (on the street:eek:) I can pull out and FLOOR it, and it will rise to 30psi, and then I have a really firm almost harsh shift it pops up to 35psi, and back to 30 then on down, but I can't stay on it long. There is some smoke, but not a lot except for if I"m at a dead stop in drive and floor it, it puffs a good bit.
One side of me is saying boost leak, but at the same time I can't imagine a boost leak that still allows me to see 35psi, being able to gain me a second off my ET, if not more??
Ben I don't have your number anymore, I had to exchange phones.
You can pm me.

If you aren't cleaning up all your smoke with a single CP3, you probably have a boost leak.

Don't know if this makes a damn or not...........

But, I've noticed while truck is running. I can hear a sound around the turbine side of Nathan's turbo/EGR/FICM area. It's hard to explain...it could be a very small air leak, an electrical noise, or metal to metal noise. It may be normal............What it reminds me most of is the sound I first heard when i put headers on the chevy 283, not so much the "tinny" sound, but more headers are so thin you can hear the air moving sound....................

at the track in 4wd there is minimal smoke, on the street in 2wd, there's a good puff when I flog it. Is this what you mean? For a while now, I've had this feeling about my intercooler..........no reason just feeling. I haven't installed the BAnks CAC pipe, waiting on boot.....

Once the turbos are all spooled up, do you see any smoke at all? With a single stock CP3, the twins should clean up all the fuel you can throw at it.

At the line building boost, it's hard to get 5psi, so when I leave yes there's smoke, other than that I can only see a light haze, may be darker/thicker from outside the truck though.

As far as pressurizing the boost, where is the best spot to cap and pressurize?

Would a bad stocker turbo give this symptom, without any other symptoms?

Because the EGT's are still under control, im not convinced its a boost leak.

I think Jeromy is having "the LLY issues"

I'm gonna try and make a datalog run today and see what it shows me. Thanks for the chat last night Ben.
One reason I'm feeling I do have a leak though is because when I first installed the this set of twins I hit 65psi on the dot, real quick......BUT that was using an oil psi gauge.
In the last month or two, seems truck has gotten slower.
I'm gonna try and do both though, pressurizing and datalogging.

a lil off topic but not..............will my autometer c2 60psi boost sensor give an accurate reading for fuel pressure installed at bleeder screw?

I taped the intake manifold... put and hooked the air compressor right up to it... I sealed the inlet of the turbo. Also get some soapy water and soaked whatever area you feel is suspect. My EGT's IIRC did not increase with my boost leak at all... Not saying boost leaks don't increase EGT's just giving you my experience. 35 psi max is very low... If you made 65 psi now makw 35 it must be a boost leak or mechanical problem.
