That's crazy. How does an injector do that? Wouldn't the balance rates be through the roof?

Wow, never seen a piston end up like that:eek:. I gueess better to learn on the stocker than your built motor.

I would assume it started as a crack. I drove it home the day it happened, started it to get an idea of what it was, drove it onto a trailer, then off and around behind Winston's house, then on the trailer and back off at my garage - so it had a good bit of run time after it let go.

I had checked the balance rates with EFI Live and they were within spec. I'm not saying that the injector blew the piston up but it was obviously putting more stress on that piston than the others and after alot of hard driving and 1/4 mile passes it had finally had enough and cracked. The crank, rod and wrist pin chewed it up into little bits.

Mitch my motor gave the ghost in January and I finally made some time to tear it down.
