Finally I can do injectors

So I've been beating this to death, stock remans or sac's. I know sac's run better and a better design, but if a stock internal lb7 can only hold roughly 5-550hp, and you can tune stocks to accommodate that, then what's the big pro of buying sac's? Plus I just found out I'll have to have a tune done for the sac's once installed. Gimme some advice guys, I really hope this next set lasts longer than the last 3.

The big benefit of the SAC injectors is the improved design should mean increased injector lifespan. I don't believe anyone has had one of the LB7 SAC injectors fail yet, and they've been out for 3 years or so.

You do want a tune with them, which factors into the cost too. You've just got to decide if the extra cost up front is worth the longer life. I've got SACs in my truck, and love them, but just put the stock injectors in my Suburban because it sees so few miles the stock injectors should last fine.

I'd love to do the sac's, but it's roughly 700 more than stocks, and tuning is gonna cost me around 500. I really don't want to do injectors anytime soon, but I also take care of em better than most people do.

Being “Cheap” always cost you more in the end... and it always costs more time which = $$

If it was my personal truck, I'd do SACs. But most all the lb7 injectors I've put in have been the updated stock design. And the majority of those trucks get sold before they have a chance to go bad again.

I don't plan on ever selling this truck. I love it too much. I finally have my dirtymax 4x4. I was planning on doing tires and ball joints, but I guess those could wait a few weeks. I guess I'll just man up and do sac's. You guys have never steered me wrong.

Lb7 is a different design, not sure if anyone makes a part other than a plug. They usually don't pop open except under extreme conditions.

I've heard of guys using a lbz fprv. Maybe someone that's using one could steer me to where they got theirs. Since I'm gonna be that far into it, I might as well change it. This one has 282k miles on it.

The lb7 relief valve is on the block in the valley not in the fuel rail. I don't see how you can get a lbz one to work. I plugged a few then cut out the banjo fitting and put in a tee.

Why would you even need a blocker plug in the first place? You have essentially a stock truck.

I run the stock FPRV on my truck and it has a 12mm CP3 and makes 660 WHP. The LB7 FPRV doesn't have any issues like the newer ones. I'd leave it. Heck, I did leave it on my built motor.

I've run trucks with the rail pressure running a SOLID 200MPA(bumping 205 at points), and never once had one pop open. Unless you have the 1 in a million that has failed, the rail plug is a complete waste IMO. You can shim them, but again, there is ZERO reason to do so. The popoff on a LB7 is NOT an LLY, don't worry about it.

I know the SAC 45 injectors are a little bit more in money but the reason they are more expensive is because of the hardware and they last longer. I would highly recommend the SAC 45!

Thanks Brent for taking the time to talk with me today. Can't wait to place my order with ya.

On another note, where can I get an injector cup bore wire brush? I'm ordering the otc cup puller tomorrow, but still need to find the correct wire brush to clean the bore.

7/8" lag bolt works real well at pulling cups.

12ga shot gun kit. pull the handle off the rod, put the 12ga copper brush on the end, put a drill on the other end, jam it in the bore and go to town with a little brake clean sprayed in there. depending on how wild the last guy went with loctite, you may need to pick some left over loctite off the edges of the bore in the head.
