Im going to be getting a lift pump very soon but i was thinking i might be able to save some money by buying a standalone pump like a raptor without the filter manifold and instead buying a cat 2 micron filter adapter for the stock filter head. What is everyones opinion?

Id put a water separating filter before the lift pump

I recently purchased but have yet to install an Aeromotive pump assembly. I bought the pump (regulated at 5-6psi), pump relay kit with oil pressure switch and misc brass fittings for around 250.00. Hope to get it installed this weekend. I just couldn't pony up the $$$$ needed to get the turn key system so many are currently using.

Is that enough pressure? I think mine is like 16psi I guess pressure really doesnt matter though as long as there is still positive pressure to the cp3??

best advice I can give here is stand alone pump and TWO filters in the system. just because a filter says it's 2 micron doesn't mean it gets it all. If you don't have a beta ratio for the filter in question the rating is just like car stereo wattage on a cheap 200w unit. Filters are rated on multi pass testing so 2 filters of even the exact same unit is still MUCH better than one.

Sorry to derail. Juast ordered the Kennedy everything pump kit today! Plan on mounting it on the tank shield. Just wondering. Is the fuel line with it 1/2 or 5/8 fuel line and is there tips/tricks to make wiring and priming easier. Not good with electrical

I could be wrong, but my kit had 1/2" lines. As far as electrical is concerned, if you got his harness, it's basically plug and play. Super easy.

No, you might lose a couple of spoonfuls, but that's about it. Be sure to use a torch and a good allen key socket. The plug has treadlocker on it...

I put a thin coat of pipe dope on the sensor and screwed it in. You would maul up the sensor if you ever tried to remove it with loctite on it...

The Everything kits have 5/8" supply and the billet pickup. Also include stainless mounting bracket so no need to mount to tank shield. Just start the truck with the pumps disconnected. Drive around the block and put power to the pumps. Always best to verify psi with test gauge.

It may drip a little, but nothing major.

The deluxe kits have 1/2" and the everything kits have 5/8" as they have the billet pickup.

Should I put some on the pressure sensor when it goes in

A little pipe dope on the threads is all you need. Also prefer to use a proper oil psi socket to run the switch in.
