The factory water separator is said to be useless. I have never had an issue myself. I just installed the Nicktane this fall. You are able to add a better quality water separator if you're worried about it.:thumb:
If I ran the nicktane I would run the Donaldson filter.

Actually the factory ac delco and racor filters are very good at separating water..... A lot of people never find water in there fuel but there is still a chance and I rather have a separator just in case...

Same idea but sinister diesel adapter. And long 2micron filter. Water step is back by the tank

But if the factory separator is as useless as people say then the end result would be the same.

SoCalMike- why a Donaldson?

I haven't ran an OEM fuel filter in so long can't remember. I do know OEM won't close the filter if it gets full of water.. The bf1259 I run does and I have had it happen.

Both the bf1259 and bf7587 run the sane 1-14 thread that nicktane uses

So, to go off on a tangent...is the Nicktane really that much better than stock? Is it really worth it? Besides the better filters, is the flow rate noticeable?
