Ff Dynamics electric fans

Electric fans have been discussed quite a bit. There doesn't seem to be any spec, air flow rating, amp draw, etc so we don't really know what they can do

In general, it is understood that electric fans don't move as much air as the stock fan. If you ever tow 10k or more then you run a high risk of overheating.

I did a test in my old LB7 a few years back, I ran it with the fan removed. As long as I didn't sit still too long in traffic it wouldn't overheat. Ran like this for about one year. Didn't really tow more than a few thousand pounds and only a handful of times. Didn't notice any increase in average MPG.

Only benefit I liked was it was much quieter, especially in the morning when starting up

Sorry I wasn't more specific in my post, I ran the flex a lite fans on my old lb7 for quite a few years. They were worked good but they did leave me stranded once when the controller melted down. I've never used this brand before but the metal shroud caught my eye. I was wondering if anyone use these brand fans or the controllers they have

I am happy with the setup and haven’t had any issues and it’s a very clean looking install . I do not tow anything though. It is street driven and raced.

I wont be towing either. Just driving and racing. I'm about to remove the hitch/bumper and prob replace with a roll pan. It looks like a clean install and looks alot nicer then the plastic flex a lite fan shroud. What kind of controller comes with it?

It’s been several years since I installed it, I don’t recall the brand but it comes with a probe to stick into the radiator fins near the hose connection and the controller is adjustable. I too preferred to cleaner look of the aluminum shrouds versus the plastic.

I had ff dynamics on my lbz never had a problem. The tuning tool is just a tiny screw driver that you can use to adjust when you want the fans to turn on.

I have them on my truck, easy to install and well built in my opinion. I told them what power the truck made and what it would be used for and they built a set to fit my needs. Definitely worth the money in my opinion.

I like that come with seperate shrouds for each one also.

I sugest not doing it. If you get suck in traffic you will lose AC which will affect your defrost too. It's a PITA to remove too.

If your fan is loud more the 5mins in the morning then you have a problem with the clutch most likely.

Thanks dozer. I pulled it from my lb7 before. Wasn’t too bad. I live in the country where there’s no traffic lol wouldn’t be opposed to putting it back in when there’s long trips or even all summer. It’s not loud for very long just is annoying to me. Truck runs halfway between 210 and whatever the lower number is. Thanks

Always ran my truck with no fan in the winter time, only time it would get to operating temp was going up the grade on 421. You're truck won't overheat idling without a fan, it won't even get up to full temp.

I have two taurus fans sitting in my garage that I picked up from a pick & pull. Have been contemplating installing them. Main reservation is I ran a little hot pulling a long grade coming back to California from Organ when I was towing a horse trailer.

Going 70 on a 100+ tune sure didn't help but Electric fans would have never kept up if the stock fan couldn't
