Would you guys all agree that no matter the Duramax version, you're going to have to run a low-12.30 to even be considered fastest stock-turbo?

I believe you are correct. I think Moss went 12.34 IIRC in his stock LB7 about 3 years ago.

Yup I agree that's why I'm going for 12.20's weighing 7060

you are so high it isn't even funny, maybe at 6600 that # is possible you'll need over 600hp to do it it isn't going to happen at 7000# my little amigo ill bet you money... seriously... I'd like to quote my good friend Billy Bob Thorton, "Wish in one hand, shit in the other and see which one fills up first."

i have to agree here , there is only so much air/fuel availible to make power , you have a bit more fuel but air is not availible . you can probably run a bit faster than your 12.56 but without trimming down i dont think you will get to 12.20 @ 7060 lbs .... @ 6600 lbs yes...

and whatch out for the nay sayers if you end up that quick @ full weight better be ready to prove the bottle was out of the truck .jmop

Im pretty certain the 12.34 was on his A5K on a single cp3....i cant remember how he did with the BD turbo, but i know his fastest time to date was with the A5K on the "Date Truck"

I did a 1.7 60ft on the 12.56 if I drop it to a 1.6 it should be faster than a 12.4. I figure I need to make close to 570 to get 12.20's

I will have the bottle disconnected just to make sure :)

Anthony your thinking although optimistic is not correct, because you go from a 1.71 60' to a 1.69 means you will go from a 12.56 to a 12.53 not 12.49. Also with those wheels and tires you are never going to 60' good unless you switch back to stock or make more power. Your only hope is pulling weight which these amazingly gifted Diesel Addiction champions are going to do. .

Why don't they hook as good as mine?:D Why didn't you get a set of wheels and tires that were small and light? 1.60 huh Russ runs Drag Radials and doesn't even cut those numbers are you racing on planet Earth? or Neptune? Earth is the only number that counts.

They hook better than yours. You cut 1.6's because your turbo spools faster than mine

My turbo spools faster than yours??? You are high again it has NOTHING to do with it. They key to 60's is power to weight ratio my PW/WR is just better than yours. You have way too much rotational mass to 60' at your weight maybe lowering it might help but there are only 2 ways of going faster... more power or less weight

I cut 1.59 on cheaters in my measly 12.36 @ 108 truck. Your 60' is power, weight, and traction - I've race and seen alot of cars with 500+hp and ALOT less weight that can't 60' what our trucks will, some that pull a tire. All the power in the world won't 60' without enough traction to use it. If you have all the traction in the world and not enough P:W you will have a bad 60' as well. At my weight and power level traction was not my limiting factor, at those cars weight and power level traction was their limiting factor.

We didn't strip any weight from Mike's for the 13.2 - actually we put a toolbox in his bed for traction:joker: on top of the extras he has on his truck

I am lucky to get Winston to drop the tailgate and toolbox - his seats have never been out, his bumper and beefed up hitch have never been off.

Chris runs without a spare all the time and take off his tailgate and his extra seats to race - not exactly all effort stripping

Mine is the most anemic since it has no spare and a rollpan with no hitch and I remove the seats.

You guys are all more than welcome to strip weight.

The 4WD LMM I'll be tuning and trying to help hit 12.4 or better with will not be local and I'll have no control over what he removes. He did say he bought it as a cab chassis truck - so to get back to stock he would have to remove the bed :joker:. But he'll leave the bed he put on it in place.

To be continued........

Ok, so we've determined that Moss ran 12.34 in his LB7 reg cab, and other than the Spruills, thats the LB7 stocker "record".

Who are the "recordholders" for the other 3 Dmax versions so far? I figure someone must know.

Skintback went 12.39 in his LLY.
