I have a kink in this fuel line going the the pump, I have used zip ties to provide pressure to keep the line open at the bend but really dont like this. The last 2 pics of the brass fittings are what came with the suction/draw kit, these do not fit the pump. What I want to know is can I go to the hardware store and get just any 90* brass fitting that the straight fitting will screw in to so I can alleviate this kink in the hose, or do I have to order special fittings to make this work.

in the last pic of the 90* with the barbed fitting attached, the other side that would screw into the pump, the threads are too small or I would just use that fitting.

I wouldnt use an abrupt 90 like that. Could be a big restriction to fuel flow.
I used two street 90's, which have a smoother turn to them. Just my opinion.

Just like this one:

Very true, but I'm a cheap bastard. Been working fine since last summer...

Haha, me too, when i do fuel fittings an such, i try to incoperate the least amount or lowest possible radius bends. Its been proven, bends drop effenciancy, look at how many straight VS. bend fittings on a top-fueler;)

I'll usually pay a bit more and go with AN's. Work great, easy of use, look sharp too:D But My lift pump set-up is all straight fittings and some push-loc hose:rofl:

I do agree. The less 90s in a fluid system, the better. I really debated running two, but lack of room made them required. I really should put a pressure gauge on the system and see if there's any issue. I dont think there is.

a 90* is still better than the crushed fuel line I currently have. I will be checking the jegs catalog though tomorrow for a smoother fitting :D

time to replace the fuel lines that came with the fass, wet spots in several areas, and seems to be running down the side of the front of the tank. guess I should have replaced them when I upgraded to the 150/150, but I re-used the old lines from the 150/95

Larry,

Go see the Parker Boys.

I have the same pump and I 180* back to the frame rail. You want a male NPT to male JIC adapter then into a swivel JIC 180* push lock.

Take ur stuff off and go look in the bins at Parker, You will get all excited. A few 90's ain't gonna slow ur truck down! We don't drive pro stock cars its a street truck... put a washer in the return on the FASS if you lose more than a pound with the fitting:)

No worries Larry it is not often that I am right:D

Fact is - ya 90* are worse than sweeps ( street Ls ) But remember the stock line is not even a full half inch ID

I'm going to order new fittings from Jegs, biggest ID I can get for 1/2"......

I cut 3" off the original hose that plugged into the pushlock fitting, the inside was restricted to less than 1/2 of what it should flow, I wish a pic would show how restricted it really was. I have leaks all over the hoses going from the fass to the tank, i'm going to replace them all.

Another thing a guy can use is a coiled spring on the outside of the hose. This will keep the hose round when bending it around corners. Trick is finding the right sized spring for the hose!:D
Some hoses have this inside the hose as well to keep it from collapsing when making corners, and when used in a high negative pressure application.

But what you have looks pretty sweet too LJ!
