Stuck in the hospital for a few weeks getting my stem cell transplant so I get to miss silage harvest this year.

The two other farms are almost done with theirs. We're planning to do just over 9k ton this year because of the surplus we have. Not worth drying it, better to sell silage.

This picture was the last load of haylage for the year.

Love the tinted Windows on the fendt. Not too dark but really cuts down the sunlight.

New LEDs I put on our older magnum.

LEDs kick the crap out of standard lights. That Fendt looks tough and ready to work, too. You're really sold on those, arent you Vinny?

Most of the farms around here are doing last-minute maintenance on their combines, getting ready for harvest. Those JD machines are impressive, to say the least. Id love to be able to drive one of those big 9000-series JD tractors thru a field just once for the hell of it.

That 1050 looks really compact for a 500 horse class tractor. Im assuming you are waiting for one Vinny?

Row crop tractors are bigger than they used to be. I know if I weigh my Massey 8670 down (39,500 lbs with loaded front and rear duals, full wheel weights and front weights) I can pull along side our neighbors JD 9420r.

I love the fendt. I wish I was able to try one.

Come on up Tom. Harvest is in full swing here. Wanna run grain cart? :D

Nah don't have a use for one, but it is a neat tractor. They will offer the series with 380-500hp. 12.4L MAN motor. Lots of new features on it that are neat and hopefully trickle down to the other models.

Yes the LED's do. I upgrade a lot of our stuff with them. Newer tractors are starting to come with them. The new Fendts have LED's and the driving lights are Bi-LED's with leveling. Deere and CNH also offer LED work lights.

Yes row crop tractors keep getting bigger and more expensive than articulateds. Articulateds are good at pulling and pushing, but not very versatile like the MFWD's.

How do you feel about not being able to run duals? I know we'd be lost without duals.

On our Fendt or the 1000 series? Ours has bar axles so we could run duals if needed. The 1000 series in the photo shown is a euro model so it has flange axles due to their road restrictions.

Personally I will take big singles over row crop duals any day. Fendt offers an on board tire pressure system that really helps as well because you can actually set the proper pressure to get the most out of the tires.

The 1000 series is actually designed to narrow down to 60" spacing. The reason you never saw many 800 or 900 on small tires was because they couldn't narrow down that far so people didn't use them for row crop work.

Just bought another Fendt. A 722 with a loader. Traded out old DT200 Agco for it.

Nice handy size tractor for a lot of things. They look small but it has 220hp and weighs 18k with no weight. You can ballast it to 29k which is pretty neat. Wheel weights are not in it in these pictures.

Man I envy you row croppers with your big toys:eek:. I'll get some pics up soon with some of our nut harvesting equipment, sweepers, shakers, harvesters etc. But our biggest tractor is a Massey 8737 we use for tilling, alfalfa, and small silage fields we have.

Cool thread:thumb:

Chopping snaplage today.

Lunch break when switching fields. Lots of good green in this pic.

You run one of those Claas choppers too? Those machines are the scariest things I've seen, bar none. Would chop a person up in a quick second. Yikes.
