I was just going to say that. I've never heard a bad thing to be said about Fendt but the problem remains that you can have the best tractor in the world but if you don't have dealer support in your area your screwed. The main reason we switched from CNH to Deere in 2004 was for service. You just can't beat our local JD dealer. They stock the parts and have available service 24 hrs 7 days a week. Older operators also have trouble grasping the new technology and while some care to learn it others like my dad (70) he'd rather drive something with levers and no buttons or switches. Can't wait to see what the next 20 years brings.

Dealer support is one of the selling points for us too. Our Fendt dealer has great service. Not needing the dealer as much was a selling point though as we had great service from the same dealer on our Massey's but the problem is we needed the dealer every week. Hoping to avoid that with the Fendt. Other than oil changes we haven't needed them at all yet. (All service is free for the first 3000hrs/3yr with Fendt, we aren't incompetent at changing oil, its just part of buying a Fendt, they come out and service it)

Our Deere experiences have all been terrible mostly due to service. we do have a new Deere planter though

You aint kidding! A lot different then the old Ford tractor with no brakes my grandfather had that I use to drive helping him hay in Vermont when I was a youngster! :roflmao:

What does that thing cost if you don't mind?

Around 280k

The button I push on the joystick is the Variotronic system which automagically performs every function you would normally perform manually.

I don't know if this was a typo or on purpose, but that's an awesome word. I'm going to steal it from you.

This one is 300 rated engine hp/250 rated pto. IIRC its like 320 peak engine. Basically with fendt the ladt two numbers are the rated engine horsepowerx10. The first number Is the frame size. They make a 933 but we wouldve had to order it and it wouldnt be here till june. They make a 936 for the rest of the world and a 939 for europe. All 900s use a Duetz 7.8l.

^This. This is why we run Massey's. Our local deere dealer won't give you the time of day unless you farm over 10,000 acres. They have a few of the bigger farmers in the state buying tractors from them so the little guys like us, (only 3000 acres) get the cold shoulder.

I really like the fendt ivt Transmission that Massey has, and for some reason, my 8660 massey will out pull my similarly ballast 8225r deere.

How has your luck been with your masseys? You need a good dealer with how unreliable they are.

How close are you to a fendt dealer?

dont ask about a combine which you can easily tripple that price and you dont even had heads yet..
:roflmao:

there is 5 center pivot case quad trac tractors pulling 60' double fold cultivators (70k each?) in the picture there are two others to the right of the picture.

Xerions are badass tractors. They just switched them all to Mercedes motors now.

Most of the Fendts around here, and in fact most sold in the country are used for hauling manure because that is where all of their features are put to use. They are designed the best for road transport when compared to American offerings.

Or SPFH's. I'm not a combine fan, other than Lexions I don't get too excited over them. We have a 2588 but don't cover a ton of acres, to me its boring and I f-ing hate working on them. Dusty and everything is half metric half SAE, not to mention everything and I mean everything is a massive puzzle stacked on top of each other and every single bolt has a nut behind it. Good thing with the 2588 is that many of the parts havent changed since the 80s which means their cheap and in stock.

To buy a new smaller SPFH like our 940 Claas with heads (PU380 Pro (12.5') Orbis 600(8 row rotary) would take about 500k. SPFH's depreciate fast too, about $150-200 per cutterhead hour for one our size. The big ones depreciate faster. The biggest Claas (980) used with 1500hrs compared to a 940 Claas with 1500hrs will literally sell for the same exact price because everybody running the 980s just buys new ones and they are too big for a small guy, plus since they use the same parts as a 940 just with more power, they tend to me more worn out as well.

There was a nice new 60' wilrich (maybe bigger) that hit a bridge this summer. They were delivering it to the farm with the NH tractor. The farm uses a quad trac on it.

We still have some old girls too.

Heres the nice window in the block of one of our 856's. Blowing corn up the silo at 2800RPM and it made a nice bang. So its split in the shop now probably put a long block in it. Also have the 2390 coming back into the shop to finish with the overhaul on that as well.

We still have the old girls, but they mostly just pump shit.

This is my old girl. 48 Farmall H. I'll never forget embarrassing a new 46hp John Deere with it either after rebuilding the tired old engine. I was helping my neighbors son mow their horse pasture, he thought that Deere could mow better and faster than my old timer. We measured off equal sections and I had him beat by over 10 minutes. Old girl had a glowing red manifold by the end but she pulled that 6ft brush cutter through tall grass in 4th gear at 3/4 throttle. Then the kid thought he could beat me in a road gear race but it wasn't even close.
This one is my dad's somewhat rare all original 601 Ford Workmaster diesel. All we've done is have the injection pump rebuilt.

I think you are stuck. I had a scare this year mowing a clients barn and race track. The driveway is 150' higher than the barn. First time doing I tried cutting sideways in the hill tractor slid sideway with 350 lbs on the rears and 400 hangin out front gave up tried mowing down hill just slid all the way down, ended up being diagonal is the only way to do it.

On the track side the only way to mow is up or down 6 foot hog on, tractor had the front tires up about 2 feet which I can deal with, with a brush hog it can't flip, I thought I hit some slick rock and broke traction sliding back tire caught and the old girl stood up quick hydro gave way. And the old butt puckered pretty good
