LML False alarm

I had a Viper installed and was told by irate neighbors that it was going off multiple times during the night. This was confirmed by finding my batteries discharged in the AM. I pulled the fuses on the alarm but was told again that the alarm was still going off but now it was just the horn and lights flashing (in other words the OEM alarm). Then I started manually locking the doors without using the fob or door switch and got no more complaints (and batteries no longer getting discharged).

On a couple of occasions I have gotten an errant "Hood Open" message on the DIC which is likely triggering the alarm when set. The switch and wiring appeared to be OK. I suspect the fault lies in the BCM itself. The Viper installation is still there and tied into the data buss but it seems to me that is an unlikely problem source since the hood open switch ties directly into the BCM. But before I take it in to the dealer for warranty it will have to be disconnected.

Has anybody had a similar experience or ideas on how to resolve it?

Thanks

Why would you disconnect the Viper system if your taking it into the dealer? I'd leave it as is so it'll help the tech track down your problem, whether its the truck or the Viper system.

X2 leave it in. It shouldnt void the warranty. Beside if they start looking for a problem and see where it was tapped in to the truck they will know anyways.

I unplugged to keep from getting shot at by neighbors. I'm not trying to hide anything. Besides, the OEM alarm is still going off with the Viper disconnected which indicates (to me at least) that it is an OEM problem. When that gets sorted out I'll move on to the Viper installer for any remaining issues.
