Factory vs cognito/kryptonite UCA's?

My 07 LBZ truck is due for ball joints once again. have gotten 100k+out of the moogs this last set. Truck has 315k miles on it and I should probably do the control arm bushings as well. this has me wanting to get the cognito or kryptonite uca's. However I run the factor wheels with 285's and have read that there can be clearance issues with the tire hitting the control arms. With this set up, should I just rebuild the factory control arms or would I be better off with the upgraded uca's. Appreciate everyones thoughts.

I'm not an expert in this arena, but I believe the actual arm, depending on model, is very close to being the same between those two. Cognito I think uses Moog ball joints so not much difference between stock. kryptonite supposedly has better ball joints. Also, kryptonite has lifetime warranty. Not sure what cognito has.

I'd pick kryptonite or stock over cognito

thanks for the quick reply, I think my main concern is the possible clearance issue between tires and the uca with stock wheels.

If stock is working for you, I would probably stick with it. IIRC when I was running H2's and stock UCA's they were close to touching. Like 1/4 inch close. But it worked.
I think you will rub with aftermarket UCA's. Not only that but when you turn to full lock you might rub the UCA also.

Cognito UCA with 315’s. Had to fender mod but not clearance issue with the control arms. I got the boxed style and they’ve been great, including the provided bolt in ball joints.

Personally I would either run new Moog upper arms (DO NOT rebuild them) and Moog lowers or Kryptonite everything and be done. I personally have Moog on my LB7 as they've done us well at my shop over the years.

Yes. I have a set of PYO and a set of Mikey Thompson look alike. I run cooper at tires in 285/75/16
When I was running H2's 285/70/17 and Cognito tubular UCA's, my tires would rub the UCA's on full lock left or right. I cant remember if I was at stock height or "leveled" though.

i had PY0's with 285/75-16 and kryptonite Never had issues rubbing. I liked the serviceability of the Kryptonite. The bigger tires eat up ball joints. I'm surprised you got that much mileage out of them.
