LLY: Factory hard fuel line diameter?

I'm swapping fuel lines from a crew cab frame over to a reg cab frame, and need to shorten them. I want to do something like the spliced trans lines pictured below, where I run AN fittings and a short length of AN line to splice the lines back together after cutting out a section. Just need to know what the OD is for the factory fuel lines. Anyone know?

I acually just did that to my fuel lines. I ended up running HP rubber line from the cooler all the way up to the motor. I used 1/2" braided line.
If you wanted to get technical you could call up Frank over at EARL's performance 714-962-6555, he could hook you up with some nice line and fittings just like the picture. But be prepaired to pay like 40ea for those red elbows.:thumb:

Did you splice the new rubber line back into the factory push lock lines that connect to the engine?

I cut the metal clamp around the push lock, that push lock has a barb on the end of it. plenty of length to put a line onto and clamp it down.

Gotcha, that sounds easier than what I was planning on doing. Are you running a lift pump? I'm not currently but will be at some point, want to make sure that whatever I end up doing will hold the little bit of positive pressure the lift pump generates.

Yes, I am running the PPE pump. If you clamp them down you are G2G. I am seeing about 11psi with my pump no leaks.

oh really? I didn't know it was metric. that would explain why I thought that though, its pretty darn close!

Converted, 12mm = 0.472 inches, and 10mm = 0.394 inches.

Compared to .50 (1/2) and .375 (3/8) inches, I think the -8 and -6 AN fittings will work fine. They are only off by .028 and .019 inches respectively.

are you trying to crimp on a Ferrell that uses a jic (A/N) fitting?

you would be better off just running a hose over the pipe ,imo.

but each to there own.

I was going to do one of these style fittings that uses a compression ferrule that goes around the fuel tube. I think I am just going to use rubber line with some hose clamps though after thinking about it. Should be easier and cheaper, even after purchasing the flare tool.

I used that type of fitting before in 1/2" and there was zero problems with figment is leaks.

x2 Ive got some of those fittings on my factory fuel line and no leaks as well.
