Hello all, I'm new here but hoping that I can find some answers. I am starting a project, swapping and LBZ into my 83 Crew Cab. For the moment I am just looking for the factory GM service manuals. I know I can get them from Helms but the 500$ price tag is a little expensive for me right now. I am deployed and find myself with a little free time and figured I should start digging through the wiring side of things so get a head start on what to splice where and so on. If anyone has a set of books available for a reasonable price I'd be interested, or a PDF download would be even better. I have also downloaded all the applicable stuff from the gmupfitter website, but they don't have nay LBZ stuff only the '06 lly and then the '07 lmm. Please let me know if I am missing an obvious source for information.

Thanks in advance.

What are you looking for specifically? I have them but they're not for sale, I paid $250 in 2010 for all 4 of my 2006 books. Just bought the 2002 series on ebay for a little under $300 this week. Look on ebay for good deals :thumb:

Is the stuff on alldata as good as the factory stuff?

Yes and no. Most all of alldata's stuff is factory service manual info reprinted. The downside is it is filtered so you're supposed to only see the parts that pertain to your specific model, and sometimes some info is left out because of the filters. That said, it is what I used for my swap, and still have for just in case I need to look something up.

Ok, well I'll just do it once and do it right, I'll just bite the bullet and buy the factory stuff. Thanks for all the help
