Exterior home LED security lights -- anyone have any experience with them?

Been thinking of replacing the mercury-vapor light on the garage with an LED security light. Nothing wrong with the MV, been trouble free for 10 years, but every other light in the house is LED now and Id like to finish the job. I have no idea what wattage the MV light is, just to get that out of the way.
Does anyone here have any insight into the outdoor security LED setups or could guide me to info on them?

How big of an area are you trying to illuminate? Is it wired to a time clock or photo eye?

We do alot of sight lighting at our company and we order alot from RAB. They make a great quality fixture and there web site usually will show the throwing distance of light.

How bright do you want it to be? I'd say something in the 2000-2500 lumen range would be decent. If you're not concerned about power usage, you can get a pretty bada$$ light.

Well thats what's awesome about LED, as we all know LED draws way less than anything out there and a 14,000 lumen light will only draw 1.3 amps at 120v

I looked at Home Depots site for the one I put up years ago, and they still sell it. I'm pretty sure the existing light is a 100w metal halide. Says it is 8100 lumens. Sucks up a lot of juice compared to an LED light, thats for sure.
Wanted to find an LED relatively close to that, but the fixtures you guys directed me to are more for parking lots and roads, arent they?

No not at all they sell it all. Google the FXLED105T ive installed that on a customers garage. It has a mounting bracket that can swivel, only thing is its pricey. BUT a great product

Utilitech makes some good outdoor lights. I have one that has 3 heads on it and love it. Paid 100 from lowes. Has a timer and photoeye built in. It's all led.
